The Lantern Competition, also referred to as Shangyuan Competition, is a conventional Chinese language pageant celebrated on the fifteenth day of the primary lunar month, marking the tip of the Chinese language New Yr celebrations. In 2025, the Lantern Competition will fall on February fifth.
The Lantern Competition is a time for households and pals to return collectively and rejoice. Individuals hold lanterns of their houses and temples, and there are sometimes parades and fireworks shows.
